Grey Panzers On the workbench

Pictures of some work-in-progress WW2 German panzers, nearly finished.

A mixed bag of brands, an Altaya Panzer IV top left, two Trumpeter StuG IVs, an Armourfast StuIG33, PSC Panzer IV top left, two Altaya die-cast Panzer IIIs and a very old repaired and repainted veteran Panzer IV middle right.

All painted with Vallejo Model Color Dark Grey Blue followed by a dark wash and some weathering.  I've run out of Balkenkreuz decals now, so I'll have to try doing them by hand.

Repaints - grey early war 1/72 & 1/76

These are for an early war campaign that our wargame group has been planning for some time.

All are repaints....

There's a good mix of manufacturers here, vehicles spanning over a decade.

The Panzer 38(t) at the front is a recent model, a repainted and weathered Altaya 1/72, as is the Panzer II on the left just behind it (Altaya), both donated to the cause by my mate Carlos

The Pz 38(t) on the right is an old 1/72 UM model and the one at the back is a heavy 1/76 scale lead SHQ model, that were given to me by a friend, Iván about 12 years ago and have been lying in "storage" ever since.

The Pz II on the left at the back is a Matchbox 1/76 kit, given to me by Iván back about the same time, which I gave to Carlos about 5 years ago.... and he gave it back to me a few months ago. And I should also add it's been repainted about 4 times now

All very interesting stuff, right ? :-)

Happy modelling.

John

Altaya Sahariana

This is an Altaya Sahariana currently on the workbench that was given to me by my good pal Carlos.

The Waterloo 1815 Italian drivers he stuck in there look really cool.

This is a first test post I'm uploading by email from my mobile.

So if you are reading this and can see the image ok, then it has worked !

Altaya Die-Cast Repaints

Some more of the new Altaya die-cast tanks recently out on the market here in newsagents in Spain.

Ideal for wargamers. Not really worth building models when these are on sale for just 10.95 Euros apiece.

Some photos below of of Altaya die-casts repainted by fellow wargamer Carlos de la Concha. The figures inside that repainted "Rommel Chariot" are two old Matchbox figures.

Altaya Die-Cast Elephant Tank

Thought I'd post a photo of one of the new Altaya ready-made-n-painted 1/72 German tanks in action on the wargame table.

This model above, the "Elefant" tank, was in newsagents at a special introductory offer of Eur 2.95.

And of course I bought three......... well, for that price who wouldn't ? Then, once the mist had cleared from my brain, I thought what on earth do I want three Elephants for.

Still, I suppose will use the three together in a game one day.
